How do seven boards work?
Type a word and it goes on all seven boards. Each board has its own hidden word and shows its own colors. Solved boards stop taking guesses. You have twelve guesses in total, so after your openers you need roughly one guess per board.
Green means the right letter in the right spot. Yellow means the letter is in the word but in a different spot. Grey means the letter is not in the word at all.
How should you spend twelve guesses?
- Guesses 1 to 3: three openers with no shared letters. That tests fifteen letters on every board.
- Guesses 4 to 10: solve one board per guess, starting with the one you are surest about.
- Guesses 11 and 12: keep these for the boards that still have several possible words.
What trips people up?
- Guessing a word that fits one board but teaches nothing about the other six.
- Forgetting that a letter grey on one board can be green on another.
- Leaving the hardest board to the end, with no spare guesses to test letters.
Tackle the board with the most open options while you still have guesses to spare.
Where does it sit among the multi board games?
It falls between the four and eight board games. It is long enough to need a plan but short enough to finish in a coffee break. If you enjoy it, the eight board game is the natural next step.
