How does the archive work?
Each daily board has a number, and the number goes up by one every day. Pick a number above the board to load that puzzle. The arrows move one board back or forward, and Random picks any past board for you.
Does the archive save my progress?
Yes. Archive boards save on your device, just like the daily one. If you started a board on the day it came out, your guesses are still there when you open it here. You can finish it any time.
Why play old boards?
- You missed a few days and want to catch up.
- You want to replay a board that beat you and see if you can solve it now.
- You want to share a board with a friend by its number, so you both play the same one.
- You want more practice with real daily boards, not random ones.
How do I find a board I liked?
Every board keeps its number, so note it down or share it. Pick that number from the list to load it again. The share button at the end of a game also includes the number.
Which past boards should you try first?
- Start with the boards you missed. Pick the numbers just before today and work back. They are fresh, and friends may still be talking about them.
- Replay a board that beat you. A second try a week later shows how much your eye for decoys has grown.
- Use Random for a surprise. It picks any board from the whole Connections archive, from #1 to today.
- Play in order for a challenge. Start at #1 and see how many boards you can clear in a row without running out of mistakes.
Do the numbers match the other daily games here?
Yes. Every daily game on this site uses the same number for the same day. Grouping puzzle #200 came out on the same day as Waffle #200 and hive #200. That makes it easy to line up a full day of games from the past.
Is every past board as hard as today's?
Every board follows the same recipe: one group from each of our four levels. So no board is much easier than another. Some days feel harder because the decoys land on topics you know less about, like moons or fonts.
Can I see the answers without playing?
Play the board and tap Hint to see group names one by one. If you run out of mistakes, the game shows all four groups. The answers to the latest board before today are also on the daily game page.

What do the four colors mean?
Each board has one group from each level. The color tells you how hard that group was meant to be.

How many words fit more than one group?
In our bank, 225 words belong to two or more categories. These are the words that trick people. A board only shows such a word when its other groups are not on the same board, so every puzzle still has one clear answer. Some examples:
- Cricket fits Sports and Insects.
- Tesla fits Car brands and Scientists.
- Salsa fits Dances and Mexican dishes.
- Sole fits Fish and Parts of a shoe.
- Comet fits Things in the sky and Things with tails and Santa's reindeer.
